Extensions and roof extensions in Weesp
A historic centre beside post-war districts, and since 2022 the same council as Amsterdam.
Weesp was merged into the municipality of Amsterdam in 2022, and for building work that is not a detail: permit applications have since gone through Amsterdam, with its procedures and policy rules. So we file here by the same route as for an address in Amsterdam-Oost, which in practice works well because we know that route.
The housing stock itself is mixed. The historic centre has buildings where a great deal is not permitted and where appearance is decisive. Aetsveld, Hogewey and Leeuwenveld have post-war and more recent family homes where both an extension and a roof extension are readily buildable. That is where most of our work in Weesp sits.

Our two solutions
What we do in Weesp
More space downstairs.
Uitbouw
An extension does not change one room, it changes the way you use your whole ground floor. The kitchen gets room to breathe, the dining table finally seats everyone, and the garden becomes part of the house.
- Larger living room
- Open-plan kitchen
- Dining space
- Play space
More space upstairs.
Dakopbouw
A roof extension delivers what an extension cannot: bedrooms. A room of their own for the third child, a master bedroom with a bathroom, a study with a door that closes. A whole extra floor, in the place you already live.
- Extra bedroom
- Master bedroom
- Children’s room
- Home office
